A Child is born in Bethlehem, alleluia! On this great feast of the Lord’s Nativity, the Church rejoices that God has come to save us. Not in a flashy way, but simply in a manger with a child. This is God’s style—He loves to exalt the lowly, to use the humble, to redeem sinners, to conquer with the weak, to enlighten the simple, to give freedom to the obedient, to glorify the meek, to speak through the silent, to enrich the poor, to honor the humble, to bring life from death! It had to be a Child that came to save us, to teach us that we too, must become like children. God is not found in the great and the mighty. He’s found in those who are dependent on Him for everything. This Christmas season also brings us many visitors and family members and those who may not attend Church as often. If this is you, welcome! We hope you feel at home in our church. We’re about living and sharing our faith in Jesus, in whom alone we find meaning, forgiveness, and true life. Maybe this makes me a bad introvert, but I do love meeting new people! Come say hello if you feel comfortable. God conquers through a Child—and that means nothing can overcome Him. His love is always greater. The Christian life is about coming to recognize this truth more and more. All of us have a ways to go, but God is patient with us. May the light of His glory, revealed to the world today, cast out the darkness of our sins and leave only the radiance of His grace. Christ is born for us, alleluia!
