Here we are, half way through February, and Lent is beginning in a couple of weeks. Lent and the Easter Season is my absolute favorite time of the year. It seems like every year, as of late, I keep saying I really need Lent this year. Since I don’t want to break my momentum, I am really needing Lent this year. There is a huge desire for me to purge all the craziness of the last 12 months. The times that I didn’t trust, the times I let fear get in the way and the times I didn’t put all of my heart and soulinto my faith! The way to Christ’s passion is where I need to focus, His path of the cross! There lies the proof of God’s love and mercy. In the cross, I see how God loves me. In the cross, is where I find true salvation. These next two weeks is the perfect time to pre-pare our hearts for Lent, and get ready to receive the Risen Christ which is the beauty of our Easter Season!

This weekend’s Gospel reading is the perfect reading to prepare the heart to find Christ. The Beatitudes are the most beautiful teachings about the strength in God’s love and how much Christ loves us and desires all of us to be with Him for eternity! Do you want to know how to become a Saint? Make the Beatitudes your personal GPS to find God’s heart. Do you want to find peace in a world of chaos? Make the Beatitudes your pray-er! Do you want to treat those around you better? Make the Beatitudes your cry of hope and joy!!! Please make these apart of your day!

I hope that we can fill our parish pews this Lent! Please bring your family and friends to join us in worship and to prepare for the Risen Christ! We have been noticing that our Church attendance is starting to grow once again, and seeing all of you out there during Mass gives us hope!!!

On a side note, I had the privilege to listen to the first children’s choir practice. I may have cried watching the future of our Church use their talents to praise God!!! Thank you Katrina for helping these young singers praise and glorify our God!!!

I pray you all have a joy filled week! I pray you allow Christ to move you this Lenten Season!
