It was so wonderful to see all the PSR families last Sunday, as we kicked off a new year of religious education! We have the best students around, and I look forward to getting to meet the future of our Church! A huge thank you to Mr. Al Pompeo and the entire PSR Team! Without these dedicated and passionate volunteers, it wouldn’t be possible for us to have these educational opportunities for our families. This year, more than any other year, we must focus on helping our children realize that God needs to be the center of their lives. The children need to know that their lives are full of purpose and promise, and that is a gift from God!

I am inviting everyone to truly reflect on this weekend’s readings! They are extremely powerful and very relevant to what is happening in our society today. Once again we see Jesus telling His followers of His impending death and resurrection, and once again we hear the disciples arguing with each other over what Jesus meant by all of this. The disciples were in the presence of the Living God and they could not just allow themselves to submit to His Words. What does Jesus do? He teaches them to be innocent like children and open their eyes to what is necessary to gain Heaven!

It’s in these days that we truly have to humble ourselves and let God in! Not only let Him in, but allow Him to take over and fill our lives! This is not an easy task, and I “wrestle” with this challenge daily. We cannot give up on constantly seeking out God! He has already found us, so it is our responsibility to make sure we are forever seeking Him out. We truly need to make time to silence our thoughts, mouths, and let Him speak to us in His Fatherly way. Do not give up this fight! Do not give into fear! Fear is a liar!!!! I pray everyone has a spirit filled week!!! God bless!
