Well, here we are in Ordinary Times once again and there truly is nothing “Ordinary” about them. Ordinary times in the Church are ways for us to cultivate our gardens of faith and prepare for the “harvest seasons” of Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter. We need these Ordinary times to reflect and meditate on God’s Word. To properly prepare our minds and souls for His coming, and our home-coming to Heaven. With everyday comes a different challenge and opportunity that our lives will experience here on Earth, and once we realize that He will guide us through these experiences than we truly begin to live.

In today’s Gospel reading we hear the parable of the mustard seed. When you have a chance “google” the size of the plant that a mustard seed grows into. It is a very large bush/tree that this tiny seed grows into. The Kingdom of Heaven is so large it is beyond our human understanding, and we wouldn’t be able to grasp it while here on earth if we tried. What does this all mean? It means God has enough room not only in His heart but His Kingdom as well. We must truly focus on these “summer” months of our lives to grow and cultivate the world around us; to make sure we are truly living and breathing on His Word and Love for each and every single one of us! What an amazing time to be alive!!! I promise you, no matter what society says, that we are getting ready to celebrate like never before!!! We must celebrate for His Love and His Glory, because He will give us all that He has! If He has all the Love and Glory; we shall have all of this as well!!! Give it all to Him!

As we prepare our hearts and minds for God and our creator, let us pray this simple and powerful prayer from Thomas Merton:

My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this, you will lead me by the right road, though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you al-ways, though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death; I will not fear, for you are ev-er with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.”

HOPE EVERYONE HAS AN AMAZING WEEK & SUMMER!
