We have made it to Pentecost Weekend and the Easter Season, for 2021, is now over. However, we must always remember that even if on the calendar it shows the East-er Season is over, the Season must never be over in our hearts and minds. We must allow the Resurrected Jesus to live with us for the rest of our lives, and must always remember to keep Him in our hearts. It’s the only way we can truly navigate this life and the craziness of it. This has been the strangest 14-month span that many of us have ever lived through, and I shudder to think where I would be if I didn’t have Christ helping me through these trying times. I truly believe the next month and half will be a very busy time in our world as we start to navigate what the “new normal “ will look like. Sadly I believe many will try and navigate us away from our faith, but we will need to dig deeper than ever before and show people that we are the Light of Christ!!! This is a perfect weekend to meditate on what this looks like, and this is the perfect day to allow Christ’s light back into our hearts!!

Pentecost Sunday is also a reminder of our very own confirmation and what that day truly meant. It was the day that Christ truly empowered us to live the faith fully and to be stewards of the Word. I remember what my confirmation meant to me at the time I received it, and I can tell you that it has matured me in ways I never thought possible. That is what growing in faith is all about, and in this Spring Season we must take great care in properly cultivating our faith. Using prayer, Scripture, and reading books on our religion that help us to learn more about our faith that we so love. We also need to stay away from the “weeds” of life; like gossip, prejudice, and the media that look to cloud our gardens of faith and keep us from the harvest of God.

I can hardly begin to imagine what it was like for the apostles sitting in the upper room as the “Fire of the Holy Spirit” descended upon them. They started speaking in different languages and found the courage to go out and preach the Good News of the Lord! We, as Catholics, must realize we have been given the power of the Holy Spirit to evangelize the beautiful life and love of Jesus Christ!!! Yes, we have that power, that God has gifted to all of us, to be beacons of Light for His Glory! Are we ready to begin, today, to be a light for His people? Are we ready to be what we were made to do? I am so excited to continue this journey of evangelization with each and every single one of you!!! Have an amazing, peace-filled, week
