It’s hard to believe we are almost half way through the month of November, and a month and half away from the end of this historic year. I am praying intently for better times to come. We still have so many wonderful things to look forward to; Thanksgiving for one, the Sea-son of Advent, and of course Christmas. While it’s difficult to know how the Holidays will look this year we have to make the best of them, because we are entering the season of “preparing the way for the Lord.” One event I am extremely exited about is The Advent Night of Enrichment: A Theme of Unity, and this will be held on Wednesday, December 2nd, starting at 6:30pm. Please consider attending with your family. In these trying times we must remember that we are stronger together, with God at our core, than we are separate. We must remember that as we continue to watch the tur-moil that is happening in our society!
Our Gospel reading this weekend talks about gifts. God has given us so much, but the catch with these gifts He has given us is to share them within the world we live in. We have all been given a calling and unique talents that are designed to help, not only ourselves, but those around us. They are not meant to be covered and kept hidden, but they are to be used for all to see. It is when we use these gifts for the greater good we truly glorify God by our lives. Have you ever truly realized how unique and special to God that you really are, and more than ever, we must build each other up with our time and talents. We must continue to use these gifts to help us journey towards Jesus Christ. I have to ask myself each day; “what have I done today to glorify God?” Sadly there are days when I haven’t done anything, and that is why I need to be grateful for the gift of another day. Another day to live the life God has willed for me, but I can not hesitate anymore. To much is at stake, and many people are suffering right now. God gives us the gift of each other to persevere through these trying times. Take some time this week to reflect on what God has given you to make the world a better place, and then stand up and go: Glorifying God with your life! Have a peace filled week!
