What a week it has been!!! Finished celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends and now we are full go in the Season of Advent! We had an incredible night of enrichment this past Wednesday and the team is looking forward to the next one! 2019 is quickly coming to an end and it makes you wonder were it actually went. In the chaos of this past year, did we stop and just be? Advent is the perfect time to catch up and just be with ourselves in prayer. Last week Father Steve gave some great tools to help us have an amazing Advent: 1. Make time for prayer. 2. Attend reconciliation (perfect way to start a New Year!) 3. Find nights of enrichment to attend. 4. Attend a night of prayer with a friend. Advent gives us so many ways to prepare for the coming of Christ.

Unfortunately, the season of Advent tends to get lost in the craziness of preparing for Christmas, and do to all the hustle and bustle of preparing for the Holiday’s, we lose the peace that Christmas should actually bring us. People get very upset this time of year because of the commercialization of Christmas, but we have the power to stop this anger. No matter what we do, the stores are always going to start selling Christmas in September, but that doesn’t mean we have to let it control us. We have the power to take Christmas back in our heart, and Ad-vent is the perfect time to take back our power. This Advent season, let us challenge ourselves to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ! Find those prayers, traditions, and sacred places to help you grow in love with Christmas again! Make it a priority to truly feel the Spirit of the Advent Season and shout like Saint John the Baptist: “Prepare the way of the Lord!” (MT 3: 1-12)
